Why creators are looking for a ManyChat alternative
ManyChat is still the biggest name in DM automation, and for many businesses it is the right tool. What changed is the price model. On 2 March 2026 it moved every plan to active-contact pricing: you pay for each person who interacts with your automations in a month, with an overage fee past your plan’s limit. For a creator, that model has an uncomfortable property: your bill goes up exactly when a reel takes off and a thousand people comment your keyword. That is why “flat price” and “AI included” are the two things most people compare first.
What to compare before you switch
- 1The pricing model. Per contact (ManyChat, Inrō), per DM sent (LinkDM, CreatorFlow, ohyap) or unlimited with credits (Zorcha). Ask what happens to your bill when a post goes viral.
- 2AI replies. Do you only need a link sent when someone comments a keyword, or something that answers the questions people actually ask — prices, how to join, what is included?
- 3The official API. Use tools built on Meta’s Instagram API (all of the tools below are). Anything that asks for your password puts your account at risk.
- 4The Instagram features you use. Comment-to-DM, story replies and mentions, follow-to-unlock, email capture, conversation starters, a menu inside Instagram.
- 5Free plan limits. Free plans differ a lot — in DMs per month, contacts and which features are switched on.

Who should stay on ManyChat
Be honest with yourself about what you use. ManyChat is the better choice if you run automations on TikTok, Telegram, SMS or email, build complex multi-step funnels in a visual builder, need a team inbox with routing and several seats, or rely on its integrations and API. If most of your DMs come from Instagram and you mainly want comments turned into conversations and questions answered, you are paying for things you don’t use.

Is there a free alternative to ManyChat?
