Instagram quick replies: how to set them up, and 30 examples to copy

If you type the same price, the same link and the same “thanks for reaching out” twenty times a day, Instagram’s quick replies do half the work: a shortcut that pastes a saved message into the chat. Here is how to create them, how to use them, and 30 ready-made replies — welcome messages included — that you can copy with one tap.

In short

  • A quick reply (in the app: saved reply) is a message stored under a shortcut — type “price” and Instagram offers the full text.
  • They live in the tools of a professional account (Creator or Business).
  • Quick replies don’t send themselves — you still tap send. For automatic answers, use FAQs, Meta Business Suite or AI.
  • Below: 30 replies to copy — welcome messages, prices, links, booking, shipping, collabs and complaints.

What quick replies are

A quick reply — the app calls them saved replies in most versions, quick replies in older ones — is a ready-made message saved under a one-word shortcut. Instead of retyping your price, your booking link or your shipping times, you type the shortcut in a chat and Instagram suggests the whole message. It saves typing; it doesn’t answer for you. Someone still has to open the chat and hit send.

How to add a quick reply on Instagram

1

Use a professional account

If yours is personal, switch in Settings and activity → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account (Creator or Business). It’s free.

2

Open your account tools

From your profile, open the menu ☰ and go to your business or creator tools. Menu names shift a little between app versions.

3

Open Saved replies

In older versions it’s called Quick replies. Tap + or New reply.

4

Write the message and the shortcut

Paste the full text and pick a short, one-word shortcut — price, link or ship. Save.

How to use a quick reply in a DM

In any chat, type the shortcut in the message box: Instagram suggests the full message. Tap it, adjust what you like — the person’s name, a detail from their order — and send. Tip: pick shortcuts that are easy to remember and that you’d never type by accident.

How to write quick replies that convert

  • Answer in the first line. Price first, explanation after.
  • End with a next step. “Want the link?” gets more replies than a full stop.
  • Personalise before you send. A name and one detail stop it reading like a template.
  • One message, one idea. Long DMs don’t get read — split them.
  • Keep them current. An old price in a saved reply is the most expensive mistake — update when anything changes.

When quick replies stop being enough

If you get dozens of DMs a day, questions arrive overnight, or every reel brings hundreds of comments, no shortcut keeps up — someone still has to open every chat. That’s where automatic replies come in: Instagram’s and Meta’s free ones (see the guide), comment-to-DM for comments, and an AI that answers in your voice.

With ohyap you paste your saved replies into a short Knowledge Base and the AI answers on its own, 24/7, with the same information — in your tone, in whatever language people write. The Free plan already includes the AI; Creator is $15 a month for 10,000 messages.

Questions people ask

How do I add quick replies on Instagram?

On a professional account, open the menu on your profile, go to your business or creator tools and open Saved replies (called Quick replies in older versions). Tap +, write the message, choose a one-word shortcut and save. In a chat, type the shortcut and tap the suggestion.

Where are saved replies on Instagram?

In the business or creator tools of a professional account, from the menu on your profile — named Saved replies or Quick replies depending on your app version. In a chat, typing the shortcut brings up the suggestion.

Do Instagram quick replies send automatically?

No. A quick reply only fills in the text — you still send it. For automatic replies, use FAQs in chats, Meta Business Suite’s instant reply and keyword automations, or an AI tool like ohyap.

What is a good Instagram welcome message?

Short, warm and useful: thank them, then offer the next step — “Hey [name]! Thanks for reaching out — are you asking about prices, availability or something else?” Set it as an instant reply in Meta Business Suite so it goes out when you’re offline too.

What’s the difference between quick replies and auto replies?

A quick reply is a saved message you send with one tap. An auto reply goes out without you: FAQs, away messages, Meta Business Suite keyword replies, or an AI that reads the message and answers right away.
